Let's play . . .
We love getting pictures of our tables in their new homes. We always enjoy seeing how each new family interprets their little bit of oomph. Sometimes the table provides the energy for the room; other times the energy comes from other sources!
The customer who sent us this picture confessed she had envisioned herself gathered around this custom Fairfield coffee table having coffee with friends during playdates. Somehow, the very day it was placed in this beautiful sitting room - it found another, more urgent use. All aboard!

oomphtini . . .
oomph has a lot to celebrate. We have had a great year. We are FINALLY about to launch our new website after months in development! And to top it all off, we are about to open an office/showroom that is going to be great - when we finish all that painting.
With all this celebrating, we have managed to perfect what we believe is the ultimate oomphtini. We experimented and had taste tests. Some of us even sacrificed ourselves to evenings of comparison tastings - a tough job but someone had to do it. After many, many recipes shaken to perfection, we selected our favorite. The oomphtini is not too sour, not too sweet - but like all things oomph - just right. We are so sure it is destined to become a classic, we printed it on our signature `tini card - also a classic.
Shake one up and enjoy!

The Tini Tufted . . .
We love tinis. We started with the liquid variety. We got so good at that we tried our hand at the tini table. That went awfully well so we gave it yet another shot and designed the tini tufted chair.
The tini tufted is the perfect size to draw close to the fire to toast your toes. We use them nestled next to the hearth or by the bed. They are stunning as pairs in a large room with multiple seating areas flanking the cocktail table.
We love their classic good looks and their scale compliments the smallest cottage to the grandest drawing room. We offer them in an array of choices: soft ultra-suede snake - snazzy!
Or gorgeous shades of glazed linens - classic!
And of course, like all things oomph, these are just a few of the choices. You can even have it your way, Customer's Own Material. We aim to please. . .Baby not included.

Everything is coming up Clover . . .
The Fashion Magpie is a style blog that dawdles in the fashion picks of preppy types from boarding school debs to our mother's style. Her taste straddles the line between trendy and tastefully current - just the right mix.
She knows her stuff! We approve of her picks and therefore we were excited when she selected our tini IV as a favorite clover shape along with the coveted Alahmbra Van Cleef & Arpels necklace.
Her post started with the necklace - oomph's favorite and apparently Reese's too. It's a go-to favorite for many a well-dressed woman. The fashionmagpie went on to list all the latest products currently featuring the ever-popular "clover" design, from ice buckets, trays, jewelry and chairs.
She wound up with a flourish - "I’ll finish up with the piece I’m most coveting (aside from the quatrefoil-backed chair above, which I will likely never be able to afford…): a quatrefoil-shaped tabletop as a magazine stand or bedside table. They add a lot of interest to an otherwise straight-edged room. This one, by Oomph Home Furnishings, rings in at $495 and is available in a range of retro-chic Palm Beach-esque colors."
So we are now "retro-chic, Palm Beach-esque". That works for us.

Time to Travel . . .
Now that the summer has come and gone and the last of the fall color is underfoot, the idea of travel to warm destinations starts to creep into your subconscious. oomph is no different. We love the stimulation of travel and the grey New England winter seems to last longer every year. Our thoughts drift toward exotic destinations.
You may wonder where we are going with this. How about San Miguel de Allende in Mexico? It looks like a mythical Mexican village recreated for a movie set. This legendary colonial city, complete with time-worn cobblestones and colorful buildings, is home to Sollano 16 - the newest oomph retailer.
The store has a wonderful mix of antiques, tabletop, home furnishings, textiles, and jewelry. Owner Anne Harte gathers treasures from around the globe and mixes them together with her stylish and discerning eye. oomph will not go unnoticed as a colorful addition to her eclectic merchandising.

And on the side . . .
There is no question, when it comes to side tables, oomph has it covered. We took the popular Edgartown classic coffee table design and translated it into the perfect size bedside or end table. Again, like all things oomph, we give you options.
The Edgartown Side Table can come with or without a shelf and of course there are colors - 16 to choose from!
The surface could be raffia or lizard, or maybe you'll choose a handsome "gator" for his office. Some people find entirely new ways to use them! Only one more decision - how many do you need?

Time and Space in Litchfield County . . .
The October issue of Connecticut Cottages and Gardens features a gorgeous family home designed by oomph partner Louise Brooks and Vincent Falotico of the architecture firm, Brooks & Falotico. This beautiful country manor house sits on 58 acres of rolling Litchfield County countryside with views of the lake and Berkshires beyond.
The interiors of this gracious country home were designed by Michael Trapp. We love that this new house has the charm of an old family homestead which appears to have been there for generations. Mr. Trapp mixes current looks with antiques and family heirlooms on a background of subtle, muted tones.
And what a surprise! Every once in a while, a 'tini table pops up because as we all know, no house is a home without a little oomph!

Tobi Fairley's Top 10 Tiny Tables . . .
Tobi Fairley has once again chosen the oomph line as one of her favorites for that just-the-right-size table that is so hard to find. Most recently on Tobi's Blog post, she lists her favorites and it is no surprise that the oomph tini ranks among her top ten.

Anna oomph . . .
Is it possible that the legendary and influential Anna Wintour was channeling oomph when she placed the two oomph Newport look-a-like mirrors above her ten foot couch in her Long Island Farmhouse?
We must confess, when we saw the picture in October's WORLD of INTERIORS, the thought crossed our mind! It just goes to show - oomph is always in vogue

American Fashion Designers at the Aldyn . . .
Earlier this week, Habitually Chic did a blogpost on the Aldyn Design Showhouse on the Upper Westside of Manhattan. It's a showhouse of fashionable interiors motivated by the book American Fashion Designers at Home. Immediately, our favorite room was a bedroom that was inspired by the iconic Babe Paley designed by our friend, Jennifer McGee.
Jen took a nondescript New York City apartment room and transformed it into a warm and inviting place that you would have sworn had a pedigree or, at the very least, the provenance of someone very chic and famous. The tailored canopy bed was an immediate room changer but, upon further inspection, we spied an oomph `Tini Table beneath the ghost lucite console!
Obviously, a room just isn't complete without a little oomph. We immediately emailed Jennifer and she wrote back -
"Hi Girls!
Oh, yes you too were a big hit. I loved watching those fashionistas walk in and immediately confirm their knowledge of your now "legendary" tini table! That table seems to be my lucky charm!"
Thank you, Jennifer! We love all your choices in this room and wish you much success at the Aldyn and beyond.

oomph is at home . . .
Our `tini tables are featured in the Shopping Guide of AT HOME Magazine's Fall Issue. Here they are shown in stock at SM Home on Arch Street in Greenwich. We love the fall hues of our knockout orange and the creme with the petite vases in the color of fall leaves.
We think they look right at home everywhere.

Rue - who knew . . .
The long awaited online magazine RUE launched today! One of oomph's favorite pillows is front and center and we understand why! "Poetical" is a gorgeous pillow - greige (that's grey-beige in designer speak). It is ultra sophisticated and we guess they think so too since they featured it on the Editor and Chief's bed! Be sure to scour the first issue for design and style tips that are both current and easy to click through.

The Newport Collection . . .
We love Newport. In many ways, it is a town with many faces. It's considered the sailing center of the world! It has no shortage of beautiful yachts and of course was once home to the America's Cup. It's where the Newport-Bermuda Race begins and where the best yacht racers from around the world come to sail.
But Newport doesn't just have yachting. There's the Newport Jazz Festival - a fabulous weekend every summer where the best jazz musicians in the world gather to toot their horns, and the Newport Casino - The International Tennis Hall of Fame with its grass courts and 1880 buildings and stands. Stepping through the arch on Bellevue Avenue can't help but transport one back in time.
But Newport is more than just a favorite playground. Its early townspeople played an important role in America's history. Their tolerance of religious freedom was the foundation for the America we know today. As early as the 17th century, Newport's citizens embraced diversity.
Newport is a town that boasts both a grand and salty history and exemplifies the energy and beauty that inspires us. Perhaps that is why we chose it to represent oomph's grandest collection of classic tables and mirrors.
The Newport Mirrors, Consoles, and unique Coffee Tables epitomize the spirit of this great town - slightly gilded in design, but classic in nature, and enhanced by a new breed of signature oomph colors.
Detail of original NYYC now located in Newport, RI |
From Newport, Rhode Island, to Newport Beach, California - everyone needs a little oomph.

The Edgartown Coffee Table . . .
Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard is a favorite town for oomph. One of the oomphettes makes this historic whaling village her home away from home and has forever.
We love sailing to one of the most beautiful harbors in New England and once moored, our view is not of marinas with endless towering yachts plugged in but of an old whaling town with its widows' walks and church steeples. Naturally, being shoppers, we can't wait to get ashore and stroll the scenic streets and check out some of our favorite stores, one of them being Tracker Home.
Edgartown's history dates back to 1642 when it was settled by the English and originally named Great Harbor. In 1671, it was renamed Edgartown after King James II young son and later became a whaling port of great importance during the 1800's. More recently, it has been famous for late night swims across the ferry slip from Chappaquiddick, the filming of "Jaws" and often being the presidential summer vacation spot of choice.
So with all those credentials, it became an obvious name for our most popular rectangular coffee table - the Edgartown. The large coffee table is the perfect spot to rest your "Dark and Stormies" between regattas. We love it in Dove White, Creme, Black, or Knockout Orange! But it looks pretty darn nautical in Club Navy with a natural raffia surface!
This large rectangular wood coffee table is a standout no matter what color you choose.
